Nicholas Kirkwood Fall 2011 shoes collection was unveiled by the designer a few weeks ago in Paris. Standing out were the Moroccan slipper inspired sandals. Rising high on Kirkwood’s classic platform, the upper and heel were made of fabric embroidered with gold thread, trimmed with gold-colored leather. Priced near a hefty $7,000 mark, one might be temped to think they were actually made gold.
